How We Make Breeding and Placement Decisions
DreamiiDolls is an intentionally run Ragdoll cattery focused on thoughtful breeding and placement decisions made at the right time—for both kittens and families.
This page explains how we approach breeding and placement, and why our process may feel different from what some families expect. For a broader, neutral overview of responsible Ragdoll adoption in Ontario—including breeder standards, health testing, pricing considerations, and ethical placement practices—families may also refer to our Ragdoll Adoption Guide for Ontario, which serves as our central adoption reference.
We Breed With Clarity, Not Promises
We do not pre-sell kittens or make commitments before a kitten’s development is clear.
Each kitten grows at its own pace, and meaningful decisions can only be made once health, temperament, and overall balance have had time to emerge.
Waiting allows us to make informed choices rather than speculative ones, and helps avoid placing expectations on a kitten too early.
Why We Don’t Use a Waitlist
We do not operate a waitlist. Our placement process is based on individual litters and real-time availability.
Because each kitten develops differently, waitlists often create uncertainty around timing and outcomes. Instead, kittens are announced once they are available, and placements proceed from there.
We believe every kitten finds the family it is meant for, and every family meets their kitten at the right time—naturally and without force.
What We Choose Not to Do
-
Our approach is defined as much by restraint as by action.
We do not breed for volume or continuous availability, assign kittens before development is clear, or promise outcomes that depend on time and growth. We also avoid using pricing anchors or minimums to generate interest. These choices are not the fastest or easiest—but they allow us to prioritize long-term stability and thoughtful decisions over short-term outcomes.
Pricing Is a Result, Not a Goal
Our pricing reflects the time, patience, and responsibility required to work this way.
It is not designed to compete with faster or lower-cost programs—and it doesn’t need to.
Rather than optimizing for speed or turnover, we focus on outcomes that remain meaningful years down the line.
This Approach Isn’t for Everyone
Our approach works best for families who value clarity, patience, and thoughtful decision-making over guarantees or timelines. If this philosophy resonates with you, we’re glad you’re here. For current availability, please visit our Available Kittens page.
